My #OneWord365: ORDER

I’m quite a bit more behind the curve with this year’s One Word than I was last year. My word last year was ‘engage’ and, whether intentionally or unintentionally, much of my life last year either reflected or was largely shaped by the essence of that word.

Going into 2012, I kept coming back to a word I hadn’t chosen, but which seemed to be choosing me.

My One Word 2011 Recap: ENGAGE

This time last year, my friend Alece was kicking off the new year with an idea called One Word 2011 on her blog. The concept was simple: instead of a resolution, choose a word, “one word”, that you would strive to center your thoughts and actions around for the next 12 months. My word was “engage”. I can’t say I knew exactly what it would look like, it is just what seemed to be jumping out at me. So, ‘engage’ it was and off into 2011 I went.

My #SexyBack11 Challenge Week 4 Check-In

Los and I didn’t do a video blog this week, but here’s my #SexyBack11 Health Challenge week 4 recap!

EXERCISE GOAL: workout 4 times this week. Hit that one 100% again this week! I went road biking again last week, which is now becoming an every Friday thing with my buddy Jamie. I’m loving it!  My workout days are Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, with Thursday being an option if I miss one of the other days. I’m switching up the types of work-outs I do so my body and muscles won’t adapt to one thing.
DIET GOAL: eat/make at least 80% of my meals at home. Out of 31 times I ate a meal or snack this week, 25 of those were eaten or made at home, giving me 81% for that goal. A little under the 87% I hit last week, but I am still hitting my goal and maintaining a healthy balance and making healthy choices whenI do eat out. I’m now 27 days without any fast food or soda/soft drinks! I feel great!  I’m having a blast cooking at home and being creative with what healthy and great tasting stuff I can come up with.
