Beautiful Things
About a month ago I had the opportunity to see worship artist Michael Gungor’s band, Gungor, perform their new album, “Beautiful Things”, live in its entirety at the re:create 2010 Conference. I had been listening to a pre-release copy of this album for a good couple months and as much as I loved it, the CD did not prepare me for what I experienced in the live setting at the conference.
I don’t wait to be overly dramatic, but what I experienced that day was quite simply the most beautiful, riveting and stunning God-inhabited live music and worship experience I have ever had. It was a collision of God and art unlike anything I have ever experienced. Ever. Anywhere. Ever.
Here’s a short video that will give you a tiny taste of what went down that day.
If you’re in the market for a new music purchase, I cannot recommend “Beautiful Things” enough. It has stayed in heavy rotation in my iTunes and iPod since I first heard it, but even more so since the live experience. The album is profound, elegant, simply complex and just plain genius.
The truth is, “Beautiful Things” is worth every single penny you would spend on it, and then some. However…
I’m excited to announce that AnIdolHeart.com is partnering with Brash Music and Nside Management to give away 5 copies of Gungor’s brand new “Beautiful Things” CD!

My favorite worship song is something that seems to always be changing. Currently, my fave is Holy by Kim Walker-Smith from the Jesus Culture Consumed cd. Its simple and really pulls me to focus on God's holiness. It encourages me to praise Him for that alone and not for what He does for me.

Favorite worship song is hands down Oh the Glory of it All by Crowder
I think that song sums up everything.
I also could go the really cool way and say that anything by U2 is my favorite worship song, but I wont
I am so glad you are doing this. I literally have no money but really want to get this CD once I gave it a listen last week on a recommendation from a friend. Thanks for doing this.
I tweeted it out by the way and I follow you on twitter.

My favorite worship song is "Jesus Paid It All", particularly the Kristian Stanfill version. It's just a reminder every time you sing it that Jesus did pay it all and how, because of that sacrifice, we owe Him our all!

Not sure if this qualifies as a 'worship song' but – "Love Song" by Third Day. It just melts my heart every time I hear/sing it, and brings me right in to His heart.

Wow, Grant… Thank you for the new exposure to such creativity. It has been to long since I've heard something this beautiful and original. Although there are influences, Gungor does have their own sound I will be spreading the love! As for a worship song… Healer by Planetshakers.

incredible. i love their sound. i imagine the live service was amazing.
now… i can't possibly pick a favorite song. Your Hands by J Heller is amazing and powerful in its simplicity. the DCB version of How He Loves is really really good (and yes, i get that that's a really trendy thing to say). there's a really old song, with a decidedly southern gospel flair that i love. it's I'll Fly Away, and it does what most modern worship music fails to do; remind us about our future, and call us to look forward to heaven rather than just focussing on today.

My favorite worship song is “Your Love Is Strong” by Jon Foreman. It speaks incredible words of worship and is an incredible modern song version of the Lord’s Prayer.
JJ Heller’s “Your Hands” is a close #2. “Hope means holding on to you/ Grace means you’re holding me too”
Thanks!

Favourite worship song goes back to the early Soul Survivor days in jolly old Great Britain… the Heart of Worship by Matt Redman. Great story of how it came to be and great song.

Fav worship song… its hard to nail it down to just one but I'd have to say From the Inside Out by Joel Houston. Its the story of each of our lives, "A thousand times i've failed…" but it always comes back to God's love and mercy. God wants not just to transform our lives by doing nice things but he wants to transform our lives, starting with our hearts. Our very souls must cry out to God that he is the constant, he is the only one that will shine in the darkness, the only one worthy of our entire hearts and praise.
So theological, so deeply powerful to sign out to God.
p.s. although i'm currently hooked on Gungor's We will run to you.
